WHAT A SURPRISE

This page will be where I will post my autographs that really shock and surprise me from players that I never would have imagined would sign. Stay tuned and cross your fingers that I get some back in the very near future.

Well I am quite happy that I got these two back from Meghan Duggan. She played in 3 different Olympic games and won 2 silver medals and one gold. This card is the 2007-08 Quaker Steak and Lube University of Wisconsin Badgers card of Meghan Duggan. She signed both cards and this was such a huge SURPRISE!!! I hope that someday I get the Hilary Knight card from the same set back signed.

This card has finally been autographed and it now leaves me just one player away from having the set completely autographed. When I saw the card in the enveloped I could only see the back of the card and I could not see the front but once I pulled it from the envelope and I saw it was signed and by Tricia Dunn I said to myself WHAT A SURPRISE!!! This is what makes the hob by so much fun and it keeps me wanting to do more autograph requests through the mail.

On January 12, 2026 I sent 3 cards of Lisa Chesson to her asking if she would please sign the cards. As an autograph collector I enjoy getting the auto requests back signed from any of the players I send too.

However there are players that had great careers and won some nice awards and played in the winter Olympics. Getting a card signed by that type of player gives one that extra jolt of excitement wishing it was that type of player. I always journal all of my autograph requests by writing the players name and address and the date I sent the requests out. Each morning the first thing I do is I check my mail for the day by using the Informed Delivery and when I see one of my auto requests as mail coming to me for that day I look at the postmark and then I look for the players from that city and state.

On Monday I saw the post mark Columbus, OH. I said to myself no it really can't be and I looked into my journal and there were 3 different players from Ohio. The only thing I could do is wait until the mail was delivered well when it did I felt the envelope and the player I was hoping for I had sent 3 cards but it did not feel very thick. To make a long story short I tore open the envelope to reveal that I was correct in my guess and that made me say WHAT A SURPRISE!!!

This card is her Senior year and this is one of my favorite cards of her.
This card is her Rookie card with teammate Shelby Aldous.
These were the three cards that I got back signed from Olympian Lisa Chesson. This was her sophmore year with another nice design. So now I did have her Junior year but I thought I had sent it but apparently I forgot as I found 2 cards from her Junior year. So yesterday I sent her those 2 from her Junior year and I asked her if she would sign the junior year card because I forgot to send it last time and I wanted to have all of her college cards autographed.
