WHAT A SURPRISE

This page will be where I will post my autographs that really shock and surprise me from players that I never would have imagined would sign. Stay tuned and cross your fingers that I get some back in the very near future.

WOW!!!!! She Did It Yet Again!!!!

Lisa Did it Again, I will explain. Back in March I sent her college Junior year card because she had previously signed her Freshman, Sophmore and senior year College cards. I saw the return using informed delivery. The card never came that day as it was another postal mistake which there have been many this year. So after waiting over 3 weeks I figured the envelope with her Junior card was lost. I had 2 more cards from her junior year so I sent the replacement cards out. So after a week after I sent those replacement cards out, guess what comes?? You guessed it the lost envelope and she signed the cards. Now she knew about this lost envelope being lost in the mail because I sent her a long letter explaining and I scanned the envelope so she could see what I was talking about.

So shortly after getting back the lost I bought 6 complete 2014 Women's Hockey team USA sets so I got 150 cards. I never knew Lisa had any cards from these mysterious cards until I saw her in the 2014 cards. So I sent her 2 cards of herself from the 2014 set I was hesitant because of all the other times of sending her cards to sign. The scan above is what she did, those 2 cards she sent to me and they were her cards. The Blue card is beautiful and I was so happy she did that. In the meantime she probably got the ones I sent out last so on Weds. I mailed her a letter telling her to keep the 2 cards of herself from the 2014 cards. She has been great signing for me and I really appreciate her doing that. Thanks Lisa!!!

Well I am quite happy that I got these two back from Meghan Duggan. She played in 3 different Olympic games and won 2 silver medals and one gold. This card is the 2007-08 Quaker Steak and Lube University of Wisconsin Badgers card of Meghan Duggan. She signed both cards and this was such a huge SURPRISE!!! I hope that someday I get the Hilary Knight card from the same set back signed.

This card has finally been autographed and it now leaves me just one player away from having the set completely autographed. When I saw the card in the enveloped I could only see the back of the card and I could not see the front but once I pulled it from the envelope and I saw it was signed and by Tricia Dunn I said to myself WHAT A SURPRISE!!! This is what makes the hob by so much fun and it keeps me wanting to do more autograph requests through the mail.

On January 12, 2026 I sent 3 cards of Lisa Chesson to her asking if she would please sign the cards. As an autograph collector I enjoy getting the auto requests back signed from any of the players I send too.

However there are players that had great careers and won some nice awards and played in the winter Olympics. Getting a card signed by that type of player gives one that extra jolt of excitement wishing it was that type of player. I always journal all of my autograph requests by writing the players name and address and the date I sent the requests out. Each morning the first thing I do is I check my mail for the day by using the Informed Delivery and when I see one of my auto requests as mail coming to me for that day I look at the postmark and then I look for the players from that city and state.

On Monday I saw the post mark Columbus, OH. I said to myself no it really can't be and I looked into my journal and there were 3 different players from Ohio. The only thing I could do is wait until the mail was delivered well when it did I felt the envelope and the player I was hoping for I had sent 3 cards but it did not feel very thick. To make a long story short I tore open the envelope to reveal that I was correct in my guess and that made me say WHAT A SURPRISE!!!

This card is her Senior year and this is one of my favorite cards of her.
This card is her Rookie card with teammate Shelby Aldous.
These were the three cards that I got back signed from Olympian Lisa Chesson. This was her sophmore year with another nice design. So now I did have her Junior year but I thought I had sent it but apparently I forgot as I found 2 cards from her Junior year. So yesterday I sent her those 2 from her Junior year and I asked her if she would sign the junior year card because I forgot to send it last time and I wanted to have all of her college cards autographed.
