More nice pulls and one very low numbered Olympian

 Well I decided I would try opening 4 more boxes from the 2025-26 Onit Ohio state Women's hockey cards. The one thing about opening these packs is the fun of pulling some nice inserts and some very low numbered. I know that I have had at least 3 hot boxes(If they Exist) as I pulled at least 8 numbered cards and one very low numbered.

I will now post some of these pulls and save the best for last as you will see why at the very end.

These 2 cards I pulled of Jordyn Petrie both serial numbered to /25. I do like the different coloring based on each serial numbered tiers.

These 2 are from the Campus Colors of Jocelyn Amos and Jenna Raunio each numbered to /10. Jocelyn Amos is one of the better players and should be a high pick in this year's upcoming PWHL draft. I really do like these cards designs.

Another Campus Colors card of Emma Peschel another player who should go high in the upcoming PWHL draft. Numbered 3/10 and it would have been great if it was numbered 7/10 her jersey number.

These 2 beauties of Joy Dunne are both serial numbered to /25 one is the first card 1/25 and the other 17/25 one off from her jersey number. Very nice additions to my Women in Hockey card collection. Now we save the best for last................

This card is the Joy Dunne Green serial numbered 5/5 and when I opened the pack I did not see the green edge until I was half way looking through the stack of 10 cards per pack. I did a slow reveal and before I moved the one card in front of it I kept saying could it be a green Joy Dunne and bingo it was. This is now in my collection and I am so glad I pulled this low numbered card of her. The only thing better would have been pulling the gold card which is a 1/1 but I am quite happy with my pulls. I look forward to more cards from ONIT in the near future. That is all I have for now but will be doing more posts soon of other sports so until then, Happy Collecting!!!

A little bit of this, that and some Milk

 This morning I was going through some albums that were in a closet and I found one interesting item that I honestly do not remember buying. Along with some older Topps Baseball cards and of course my Women's hockey cards that I got back signed and some other interesting cards.

I thought I would start off with this ticket since the NHL playoffs are underway. This gem of a ticket is from the 1995 Stanley Cup playoffs where the Bruins played the New Jersey Devils. The Bruins would play the 3 playoff games at the famed Boston Garden as it was set to be closed. The Bruins held a preseason exhibition game between the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins on September 26, 1995. There would be a final even where the Bruins players along with legends Orr and Bird made appearances and there was the final skate where we saw the Bruins greats skating on the ice for the final time. During that preseason exhibition game the final goal scored was by Bruins defenseman Don Sweeney as the Bruins won the game 3-0 over the Montreal Canadiens. The game known as  "The Last Hurrah" was quite sad as it was a goodbye to the Garden. As you can see on the ticket it reads: Thanks for the Memories Boston Garden 1928-1995.

This card is the first series checklist card for the 1968 Topps set. I really was surprised to find this card not checked as a majority from these older sets are marked and these cards were found at a yard sale and a majority of the time they are all checked and colored in. The player pictured on the card looks to be Jim Kaat but I could be wrong as I am only going by memory and my memory is not what it once was so if I am not correct please correct me.

These two cards are from the 1968 Topps of George "Boomer" Scott and Joe Foy. Both players played a big part for the Red Sox making the 1967 Playoffs as the 1967 Impossible dream. These 2 cards are in very nice condition and I paid less than $1 per card and I got over 40 cards all from this 1968 set.

These 2 players really need no introduction as they both went on to having great careers and Don Sutton was elected to the Baseball Hall of fame and never won a world series and never won a Cy Young award. Sutton only had one season as a 20 game winner during the bicentennial year winning 21 games. He won 324 games with 256 losses. Tug McGraw won 2 world series titles the first with the Miracle Mets of the 1969 season and the Philadelphia Phillies in the 1980 season. Tug McGraw is the Father to Country and Western Icon Tim McGraw. Was very glad these 2 cards were in the lot.

This item I found I thought was very interesting as it is a sheet for 1998 Topps Milk Mustache Trading Cards. The fronts of the cards show each player with a milk mustache and the back of the sheet has tips for Basketball and a Milk Tip. The players on the sheet are; Reggie Miller, Jayson Williams, Tim Hardaway, Brevin Knight, Eddie Jones, Kevin Johnson, Glenn Robinson and Dikembe Mutombo. Thought is was odd they did not have 9 cards but the final spot was a description of the cards. Interesting piece!!!

This is the back of the sheet and you can see the Basketball Tip and Milk Tip. The cards are perforated and I am wondering if the mustache on each player are drawn on or are they real?? Two of the players Jayson Williams and Glenn Robinson both look to be on the court like at the free throw lines so would a player have a milk stache during a game?? Doubtful yes maybe though but well I really dunno, Got Milk?

These 2 cards are from the 2009-10 Wisconsin Women's Hockey set of Kyla Sanders and Anne Dronen and I was fortunate to of got both cards autographed and I wanted to show these two cards now since we are talking about Milk.

This card is from the 1994-95 Classic Women of Hockey card of Stephanie Boyd. What is interesting about this set of cards is there are a total of 40 cards 19 from Team USA 20 from Team CANADA with one checklist card depicting the players from team Canada. One thing that I get upset about is there seems to be more cards of the Team Canada players than the Team USA players. Upper Deck has done so many cards of Team Canada but I have found none for Team USA. The only cards I see from Upper deck now are the PWHL cards but I honestly hate Upper Decks cards as their designs are horrid and a lot on the silly side. The one thing that collectors like about Upper Deck's hockey cards are their Young Guns cards which are basically rookie cards. after that for myself they are just a lot of colorful dust collectors. Back to the card of Stephanie Boyd I am showing this card as it is the last card I need to get autographed and it will complete all of the Team USA players all cards being autographed. The big problem is I do not have her address for trying to get a TTM auto because Stephanie was Born in Canada but she did play for Team USA. I believe that was because her Mother was born in the United States. I only have 2 team Canada players from this set autographed as it will be a huge challenge finding their addresses.

I Wanted to show this card because it is one of my favorite cards I love the name and these cards have a beautiful border and the puck with the team info is nice. However what I do not like is the dark background because when you send to these players, they sign the back of the cards instead of the fronts because most do not have a silver or gold paint pen. So I did get Hattie Hoff's autograph back but signed on the cards back. I plan on sending this card to her and ask her to sign the front in a color that will show, I might even send her a paint pen in a bubble mailer along with the card hoping I get it back signed and when I do I will show it here in an upcoming blog post.

This is the autograph of Hattie Hoff on the cards reverse and she really has a nice autograph which is why it is easy for me to have already made up my mind on sending my last card of her for her autograph on the cards front and in silver paint pen. I only have the one card of her but this card I will keep here as it is the second card of her.

I am showing a drawing I did a couple of years ago. It is a drawing of a covered bridge near where I grew up. The Bridge is called The Blair covered Bridge and the river is the Pemigewasset. This drawing took some time and I am hoping I can get back to drawing as I developed trigger finger over the winter months hoping it gets better so I can get back to drawing.

These 2 drawings I did and they are of our dog Piper. Both were done using a Q-tip and Charcoal, the first drawing Piper was playing in the mud so I called it "Dirty Face". I love to draw and I have been drawing for over 57 years.

These cards are really cool and metallic looking

It has been some time since I did a new post but I have been busy with sending out many autograph requests through the mail and other things involved with everyday happenings. Today I weant to show the cards that I pulled from the 2025-26 ONIT Ohio State Women's hockey boxes. You get 4 packs of 10 cards per pack for a total of 40 cards. I have now opened 4 boxes and the first two boxes must have been hot boxes because I pulled 3 cards numbered to /10 and 2 City Limits Night version cards of Joy Dunne. I actually pulled almost every card available of Joy Dunne. Of those cards I pulled 2 of them were serial numbered 5/10 of 2 different subsets.

I will show those cards and others that I pulled and how impressed I was with those first two boxes. The last 2 boxes were so so nothing to alarming only 3 cards serial numbered to /25. The funny thing I noticed while on their website that the card of Sloane Matthews is serial numbered to 3/25 and I did pull that card which is the one they show on their website.

This is the very same card serial numbered 3/25 and these red version cards are not my favorite colored variations, I like the teal ones as they have that blue ice color which relates better with hockey.

This card is the City Limits Day Shimmer card of Emma Peschel, I was lucky with the last 2 boxes I opened as I also pulled her City Limits Night Shimmer card. You can compare them and see the lighter photo is the day version and the night time card is darker. As I will be showing that card next for comparison.

This is the night version and I love how these cards have a nice metallic look and the rainbow affect when moved. 

This card is the Hype K-Scope card of Jordyn Petrie and from 4 boxes this is the only one I have pulled. I believe the first 2 boxes I opened were Hot boxes as I got so many inserts except not 1 of these cards.

This card is from the subset Vestige and from 4 boxes I have only pulled 3 different players of the 6 on the checklist. These cards to me look as though you are seeing what you would see if looking through just your visor. I hope I pull more as I plan on  buying more boxes but not sure on how many.

This is the Campus Colors Dark card of Olympian Joy Dunne and this one is serial numbered to 5/10 as you can see in the upper right corner. This card would be highly sought after being it is low numbered to only 10 copies and because of Joy Dunne participating in the 2026 Winter Olympics and winning gold. This was part of those 2 hot boxes where I pulled so many cards of Dunne.

The only subset that I have not pulled one card from is the Silhouette cards which are tougher to pull and on my wish list is a Joy Dunne and what would be even sweeter would be to pull this card serial numbered.

I will be posting the next boxes I open from these cards and I keep hoping that maybe I will pull a 1/1. Until the next time I hope everyone is finding their card wants and as always Happy Collecting!!!

There are some so-so weeks but then there are those Fantastic weeks

 I thought I would do a post about how I feel as a collector and why I like being surprised at what I get back in the mail. Years ago when I switched to collecting the tobacco cards I found a very nice dealer that dealt in the "T" cards. I started with the T-206 White Bordered cards and the most popular. When I started getting these cards in the mail I never knew what these cards looked like and I can not explain to you how I felt when I first opened the envelope for the very first time. These little lithographic cards with the beautiful colors of the sunset skies, the dark infield with the beautiful green grass. The portrait cards and the backs of these cards was another reason to collect.

What I collect today relates to those days, not as much but it does somewhat. Today when I send out an autograph request through the mail I never really know what I will get back in return. There are some that I never get back and there are those players that go above and beyond. Last week was a very good week for getting back auto's and I got a very big surprise in one of yesterday's mail. The one I got back from  yesterday signed the index card and she was very generous in what else she did and I am very happy because of it.

This index card is signed by Rachel Llanes and I do like the autograph on the puck and these index cards with that puck are just the right shade to make the autograph pop. She also was kind enough to add 3 cards of her own from her playing days with the Vanke Rays of the Russian League.

This card is the 2019-20 Sereal KHL The 12th Season Collection- Welcome to the League Promo card. As you can see she did sign the card and this card is like a piece of thin plexi-glass type. The promo cards were given out to the players so they are more limited. There is the very same card that instead of reading PROMO CARD it is serial numbered there to /10

This card is the 2019-20 Sereal KHL Leaders-Leaders WHL card and another nice autograph. I love the colors as they seem to blend nicely, the silver looks to be a metallic look. Her autograph is consistent each time which is an indication she cartes about the fans who collect autographs.

This is the back of the 2019-20 Sereal KHL Leaders-Leaders WHL card and it is also cool seeing the countries flags on the back and the inset picture of the player. The numbers for these cards are written in the bottom of the cards and the numbers are very small. Overall I still like this card and even more that it has been autographed.

This card is the Fonbet All-Star Week 2020 Participants Of The WHL All-Star Game. I love the colors in the card as the borders Reds and Yellows mix well together.

This card is the  Fonbet All-Star Week 2020 Participants Of The WHL All-Star Game back of the card and it seems the players inset photo on the back are the same photo. This really is one of the best auto requests successes that I have ever had and I thank her for her generosity, I wish all players were this nice to their fans.

This is another signed index card and this one is of Jenna Rheault of the Boston Pride. Jenna had a very good career playing 4 season's with the Pride. Again the autograph looks bold and beautiful on the blank puck with just enough light to it's center.

Another index card and this one from Ashley Cottrell of the Worcester Blades. She played 3 seasons with the Blades and played 4 seasons with Providence college. She won a World Junior Under 18 Gold Medal and won a CWHL Championship with the Blades.

I hope this week I get back lots more autographs through the mail and I also did not get one that was in Thursday's mail. The envelope was postmarked Columbus, Ohio and it was from Lisa Chesson who I sent the card I needed for all of her College cards from her playing fort the Ohio State Buckeyes. I filled out a missing mail report but it looks as though my mailman put the envelope in someone's box instead of mine. This has happened before with our mail and this just gets me very upset and too think of the postal rate hikes we pay. Opening 2 boxes of The Onit 2025-26 Ohio State University Women's Hockey cards

 So today I thought I would open 2 boxes of the 2025-26 Ohio State University Women's Hockey cards. There are 4 packs per box 10 cards per pack. So we will be opening 8 packs and 80 cards total. I will be looking for the numbered cards and other inserts. There are no autographs in these boxes. I will open a pack then list the cards I pulled. After I open all the packs I will add some scans of those cards. I am hoping to pull a nitro card as those are numbered 1/1. I will post the inserts per each pack.

This lot consists of all the Joy Dunne cards that I got on this break, I will say overall I am very pleased with the results. Starting from the top Left to right: General Admission K-scope, Blackout-Silver, Vestige and Base Orange. Bottom Left to Right Fusion Standard, Fusion Premium Holo Serial Numbered 5/10, Campus Colors Light Holo Serial Numbered 5/10, Base Teal. The Orange and Teal are not serial numbered only the Red to /25 Green to /5, Gold /1. My lowest numbered pull was the next card I will show.

This is the Base Jenna Raunio Green Serial Numbered 4/5. I like how the cards reflect with the different colors.

I was so pleased with this break that I bought 2 more boxes, I am hoping I can pull a /1 card or a Nitro card which are numbered /1. The gold cards of the base I really would love to pull especially of Joy Dunne. Joy Dunne played in the 2026 Olympics for team USA. She appeared in 7 games registering 2 goals, 3 assists for 5 points helping Team USA win Gold. That is why I am glad I pulled almost all of her insert cards. I only need the following inserts of Joy Dunne, Hype K-scope, Hype K-scope Nitro /1, Blackout Team Color /20, General Admission K-scope Nitro /1, City Limits Night Shimmer Nitro /1, City Limits Day Shimmer, City Limits Day Shimmer Nitro /1, Silhouette, Base Red /25,  Base Green /5, Base Gold /1. The others I need are special parallel cards with different colored tiers.

This card is the Fusion Standard card of Emma Peschel and this is the Fusion Premium version, the other version is the Holo which is numbered /10.

This subset is the Photo Variation cards of Jordyn Petrie, Joy Dunne, Jocelyn Amos and Emma Peschel. This subset only has 4 cards and I was able to pull all 4. I got multiples of all the players except for Joy Dunne. Kind of ironic as I got multiple cards of her in other subsets.

My overall grade of these cards is an A+ and the reason for such a high grade is because of the nice inserts and I had lots of fun which is what it is all about. I pulled numerous serial numbered cards. You get 10 cards per pack and from each pack you get 6 base and 4 inserts. The base photo variation cards is a nice subset and a slight variation over the basic base cards.
